The sorts of things we get up to

We’re feeling very productive at Messy Church HQ today! We've been busy in our Inventing Room experimenting with delicious concoctions ready for our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory special.

Lots of work goes into the preparation for Messy Church – our volunteer helpers have gathered materials and have been busy cutting out, glueing and sticking. All these materials will be transformed in our craft session into Wonka’s Peppermint Swirls, Armpit Fudge and Lickable Pictures!

Come along for your very own special tour of the Messy Sweet Factory – no need to find a golden ticket to enter ... you can make your own in our craft session. If you make it to the end of the tour you may even be lucky enough to sample our chocolate waterfall!

This month we’ll explore how Charlie entered an amazing new world and how we are all blessed by God’s sweet grace.

Come along and join us for a sweet adventure and a yummy tea on Friday 19 June 2015 at 3.30 pm.

Please note: All children must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a responsible adult during Messy Church.

This is a free event, however donations towards the crafts and the meal are always very welcome.

Mothers’ Union were delighted to welcome our Reader, Jan Hesselwood, who gave a fascinating talk at our meeting on 2 June.

Jan spoke about how to encourage more boys to come to church, and explored reasons why boys might not feel church is for them. She has undertaken a great deal of research into how boys may learn in different ways to girls and how this could affect what activities they enjoy doing.

It was a thought provoking evening enjoyed by all who attended and gave us some interesting insights into what we can do to encourage more boys to participate in church.

Mothers’ Union meetings are usually held on the first Tuesday of the month and are open to all. Come along to our next meeting, all welcome.

Our monthly Little Angels meeting is just around the corner and we have a collection of craft resources ready and waiting for your little ones to get stuck in to.

This month we are looking at being thankful, there will be crafts and story monster will be visiting to share a story with us.

There will also be plenty of time to play, enjoy singing songs together and share a drink and biscuit together.

Little Angels is aimed primarily at pre-school aged children, however, feel free to come along with any older siblings who are busy being thankful for the school holidays and enjoy Little Angels as a family.

Little Angels will take place on Thursday 28 May at 1.15pm
