A group from St Michael’s spent the day at Scargill Summerfest on 5 August 2015. Summerfest is a mix of bible teaching, concerts, adult and children’s groups, creative workshops, chapel services and outdoor activities – all held in the beautiful surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales.

Scargill House is a Christian conference and retreat centre where events are held throughout the year. Everyone experienced something different as we spent the day listening to talks, exploring the grounds, playing rounders and even taking part in a hand bell lesson!

One of the group, Helen, said: 'It was a lovely day, the surroundings were so peaceful and spiritual. I really loved that there were opportunities to do fun things together as a family, like making a hat with my daughter for the ‘mad hatters tea party’. There was also time to recharge on a personal level when I enjoyed a singing workshop in the chapel.'
