Shoeboxes filled with love!

THANK YOU to everyone who filled a shoebox with gifts for our appeal. It was a fantastic joint effort by St Michael's, the community centre and the people of Cottingley - in total we collected an AMAZING 97 boxes!!

A very big thank you to our wonderful Caring & Sharing group who organised the appeal. They bought gifts, put boxes together, and wrapped them beautifully. The group is made up of members of the community and St Michael’s who have spent recent weeks working together to make this appeal a success.

Our amazing total of boxes was reached thanks to a massive response by the people of Cottingley. So many individuals responded to our appeal on Facebook. This not only shows what wonderful people we have here in Cottingley but also the connections being built between the church and the local community. A big thanks also goes out to all the groups and other churches who supported the cause.

Our All Sorts groups chose to use some of our funds to pack boxes full of goodies for the appeal. Our children are so blessed and we wanted to share our blessings with others less fortunate. It is such a joy to know that our presents will be opened by children who may never have received a gift before.

Vicar Malcolm says: “The amazing community effort makes me feel very humble and privileged to be the vicar of St Michael and all Angels church.”

Thank you to everyone on behalf of the children who will receive your gifts, we can't wait to find out where in the world they're off to!
