A new Vicar for Cottingley
Bishop Nick and Bishop Toby are delighted to announce that Revd Malcolm Hendry has accepted the Archbishop of York's offer to become the next Vicar of St Michael and All Angels, as well as the Executive Chair of Cornerstone Community Centre.
Malcolm has served as curate in the parishes of Wrose and then St Paul's Shipley, following an extensive career in industry and lay ministry in the parishes of Idle and Thorpe Edge.
Malcolm says, "There are lots of great things already happening in Cottingley and Jo-Ann and I am excited to be joining in with them in the next chapter of God's work there. I have a real heart for the parish and look forward to working with you all, to form the vision for what it means to be God's people in Cottingley and to be a blessing to our communities. I have loved being part of St Paul's Shipley and will be sad to leave as they await a new vicar, but trust that God is very much at work in this."
Andy Jolley, Archdeacon of Bradford, would like to thank Robin and Tricia, the parish representatives for their careful and patient work over the past year as we have searched for the next vicar, as well as all those who have been sustaining such fantastic work both with St Michael's and also through Cornerstone during the vacancy.
Malcolm's Induction Service will take place at St Michael's on Sunday 26 March 2017 at 5.00 pm.
