Help for Refugees

Recently we have been sharing together about the plight of refugees and how hard it is to know how to pray and also not really knowing what we can do to help. As we focus on the Christmas story we are reminded that Mary and Joseph were refugees themselves, fleeing with a small child from a dangerous political situation.

Below is information on some initiatives that are happening locally that you may feel able to support.

Clean clothing can be taken to the Red Cross on Tuesdays 10.00-2.00 where there is a drop-in for refugees who can take what clothing they need without paying. The address is: Keyhouse, Cavell House, Eldon Terrace, Bradford. BD1 3AY.

Abigail Housing - www.abigailhousing.org.uk - collect food for refugees in Bradford/Leeds, they always need: rice, spaghetti, tinned tomatoes, tinned tuna, tea, coffee, sugar, breakfast cereals, cleaning products, washing powder, toiletries (especially for men). Leave at Bradford Cathedral for collection.
