The sorts of things we get up to

We’re taking part in this year's Shoe Box Appeal which ensures that thousands of children around the world get at least one present at Christmas. Last year shoe boxes from Cottingley went to children in Liberia, but child poverty is worldwide so let's make sure there are enough shoe boxes to go round.

Wrap a shoe box with colourful Christmas paper and include one or two special items that a child will fall in love with such as a doll or cuddly toy. You can then fill the box with smaller items such as stationery or toiletries. You can even include a personal note or a photo of your family! Some ideas of what to put in your box can be found on our resources page.

Label the top of the box with boy/girl and age and drop it off at our collection point at St Michael's Church or at the Community Centre by Sunday 11 November 2018. Anyone in Cottingley can take part in this appeal.

Thank you on behalf of the children who will receive your gifts!
