Cottingley shoebox appeal success!

THANK YOU to everyone who filled a shoebox with gifts for our appeal. It was a fantastic joint effort by St Michael's, the community centre and the people of Cottingley - in total we collected a WHOPPING 113 boxes!! This is a sterling effort and a huge increase from last year's 66 boxes.

A very big thank you to Bingley Craftbooking club for all the boxes they brought, and to our wonderful Caring & Sharing group who bought gifts, put boxes together, and wrapped them beautifully. Thank you to everyone on behalf of the children who will receive your gifts, we can't wait to find out where in the world they're off to!

Brilliant result from Co-op fundraiser!

We are delighted to announce that we have raised an INCREDIBLE £5,513 in our Co-op fundraiser!

THANK YOU to everyone who used their Co-op membership card to help raise funds for our All Sorts group - you have helped to provide vital activities for children in Cottingley.

The money will be used to buy equipment and materials for the group and a special trip (or two!) to give our All Sorts families a day to remember. We’ve also been able to purchase branded t-shirts for our leaders, and given the children special Nativity advent calendars.

We also chose to spend some of the funds to give presents to the shoe box appeal to spread the love around the world!! The funding also means that our Christmas party this year will be that little bit more special.

We are truly blessed and so grateful to everyone who contributed, thank you.

All Sorts: We will remember them

What a wonderful bunch of All Sorters! We had a very special theme this month where we learnt about Remembrance and the brave people who fought for our freedom.

We acted out the first Remembrance Service with the King, soldiers and crowds - the clock struck 11 and we all stood in silence and then laid poppy wreaths on our ‘cenotaph’. We also had fun making poppies, brooches and peg soldiers.

At the end of the session all the children were given a very special advent calendar to take home - don’t forget to open your first window on the 1st December!
