After nearly 17 years’ faithful service, Robin Wraith stepped down as Churchwarden at St Michael’s in April 2017. Many of you will know Robin as the wonderful Chef who made all the delicious meals for our families at Messy Church and All Sorts!
During his time as Churchwarden and Trustee of Cornerstone, Robin has overseen the installation of two vicars and the knocking down of the old church. Following in the footsteps of his late father, who was Churchwarden when the old church was built, Robin supervised the huge project of rebuilding the new church and Cornerstone Centre.
Robin has also been Chair of the Parochial Church Council for the last 18 months and has served alongside fellow Churchwardens Val Challinor and Sue Butler.
Robin said: “I feel the most amazing thing we have done is the way we have embraced the community we live in. St Michael’s has made a difference and will continue to do so.”
Robin won’t be putting his feet up just yet – he will be continuing in his role as Head Chef at Martin House Children’s Hospice, and joining a new church local to his home, where we are sure he will be welcomed with open arms!
We give thanks for Robin and his unique, inspiring and loving ministry in this parish over many years and we wish him God’s rich blessing as he begins a new chapter in his life. A positive and uplifting role model for our young people, Robin is much loved by all and will be well and truly missed. We give thanks that he has been a part of our lives here in Cottingley and for all the outstanding work he has done for our church and the local community. Most of all we thank you for feeding us!! God Bless you and Thank You from everyone at St Michael’s!
