Food for thought at Harvest Festival!

Our Church4All team led a wonderful service for Harvest Festival on 2 October. Inspired by the traditional tale The Enormous Turnip we learnt how by pulling together as a team we can achieve many things. We explored how teams produce and harvest the food we eat, and discovered how the team at local café Saltaire Canteen use food that would otherwise be thrown away.

During the service we learnt how by building a community we can take God’s word out into the world and by working as a team we can achieve so much more. With this in mind we brought our gifts of tinned and dried food up to the front for donation to Bingley Food Bank.

We also discovered how many congregation members it takes to pull up an enormous turnip when our Church4All team gave an entertaining performance of the story! They’ll be eating turnip soup for weeks …
